ORX-005 Gaplant TR-5 [Hrairoo]

Just can't stop getting Titans Test Team mecha, can't we!? Another excellent kit from Bandai, which is basically the same mould used as the original Gaplant, but more added options and a little adjustments to the mould to get the color scheme of Hrairoo right. A 'brother' mecha of Hazel, spotting characteristic head sensors and the sniper beam rifle. The best part is, it can transform into a mobile armor, making it a TMS (Transformable Mobile Suit) It was not a very easy kit but at the same time easy(contradictory...) as there are seam lines that can be covered easily but some parts just can't!! OK,enough talk, now action:

1. Head
One of the few HGUC kits that do not need any seam lining! The sensors on top of the head and antennae has been stuck with the stickers they have provided in the kit.

2. Arms
The shoulders have changes done, especially the part where the 'hole' exists. I had to bore a hole through as there is no way I can cover up the seam lines in that area. After dealing with that, I stuck a plastic sheet behind. Additional thin plastic sheets have been stuck around the hole to give it more detail. The flap also has small plastic pieces stuck onto it. For the additional armament, I have stuck a squarish plastic sheet on the top for extra detailing. The edges of the shoulder have been sanded to give it a slightly sharper look. The forearm also has details by adding plastic sheet on the white and royal blue part, because that area seems very bare.

3. Body
The edges at the chest have been sanded also to give it a sharper look. The side skirt armor has an additional plastic piece stuck on the top for detailing, and putty was used to ensure the surface is flat.

4. Legs
Plastic sheet has been added onto the side of the shin and knees to give a more detailed look. A small plastic sheet is also added on each of the 'flap' on the shin. Major seam lines have to be joined here and quite a bit of problem has occurred, but luckily it was covered well.

Below are the paint I have used for this kit:

Tamiya

1. Gloss Red

2. Flat White

3. Light Frey

4. Flat Orange

5. Chrome Silver

6. Flat Black

Vallejo

1. Navy Blue

Tamiya Basic Putty was used for the covering of seam lines and a 0.1 pen used for panel lines. The dark silver color was done by mixing chrome silver with flat black, and the white was done by mixing flat white and light grey.
