RX-121-1 TR-1 Hazel (First Version)
Here is the ever popular TR-1 Hazel, the kit that only came out in Resin Kits or as a gift
from the model magazines, now it is HGUCised! Unbelievable! When it first came out, I immediately got 2 of it so I can make
the Hazel I and Hazel II. Quite a lot had to be done as Hazel first version is quite different from Hazel Custom. The most
noticeable thing on Hazel I believe is the yellow line that separates the two different colors of the T.I.T.A.N.S Test Team.
The method of using the masking tape is rather important to get the line straight and nice. I will go on every aspect on which
areas I have done.
1. Head
The main thing done on the head is sharpening the antennae and the edges of the camera on the
top of the head. The camera had to be painted carefully or else it would have turned out to be a disaster.
2. Torso
The area which had quite a lot of customization. The chest needed to be remade as the Hazel Custom
chest is totally different from the Hazel I chest, so I had to use a GM cold climate chest and put onto the empty area to
act as a base before doing the 'moulding'.
3. Legs
The rear area of the calf had to be sharpened at the booster to give it a better and sharper
look. The ball joint for connecting the feet to the legs have been removed and I used pin connections instead.
Below are the paint I have used for this kit:
Tamiya
1. Gloss Red
2. Gloss Blue
3. Grey Blue
4. Flat White
5. Flat Yellow
6. Nato Black
7. Flat Base (for mixing with gloss paint)
Hobby Color
1. Lime Green
Tamiya Basic Putty was used for the covering of seam lines and a 0.1 pen used for panel lines.
A very below expectation outcome after finishing this model :(
